Woodruff, Wis. – By unanimous vote, the medical staff of Howard Young Medical Center recently appointed Bruce F. Hertel, MD, Ministry Medical Group pathologist, to the Honorary Medical Staff. Membership on the Honorary Medical Staff is intended as a mechanism for honoring those outstanding individuals who the medical staff feels significantly contributed to the improvement, reputation or services of the hospital and/or medical staff.

(January 16, 2015) – For many years, individuals who’ve chosen to pursue volunteering for hospice have been able to explore a wealth of information about the end-of-life in their training sessions. Dr. Kate Hospice is opening up their free education program to the general public. This comprehensive course will be facilitated by various professionals on the hospice team, sharing their experiences and expertise in a dynamic, interactive format.

(January, 2015) – A program offered by Ministry Weight Management and created by HMR Weight Management Services (HMR) has been named the No. 2 Best Weight-Loss Diet in U.S. News & World Reports’ Best Diets of 2015. The ranking was based on both short and long-term weight-loss ratings of the HMR Program.

Woodruff, Wis. (December 31, 2014) – The Auxiliary of Howard Young Medical Center awarded Dr. Henry Ashe Continuing Education Scholarships to seven students who are pursuing a career in a healthcare field at the undergraduate level. Each student received $2,000 and in addition, two $1,000 scholarships were presented to two graduating seniors from Lakeland Union High School (LUHS) who plan on pursuing a healthcare major.

(WOODRUFF, Wis.) – Associates from Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital, Howard Young Medical Center, and Ministry Medical Group in Woodruff made a donation recently to Lakeland Area Special Olympics. Associates donated $710, which included a $50 gift card to honor Ministry Health Care’s Mission and Values Week.
