Good Samaritan Health Center Foundation

A River of Commitment to Strengthen Our Community

The Legacy

Our community was built around the strength of the rivers, a force our forefathers knew would be constant, yet change with the times.

Since 1926, Holy Cross Hill, now Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, has been the center of community health care for Merrill and surrounding areas. Founded on the banks of the Wisconsin River, Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center has proudly held onto its heritage and with the community’s generosity, donations have supported health initiatives and various projects.

Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center became a valued member of the Ministry Health Care system in 2005, allowing its heritage to be preserved and enhanced in the delivery of health care to area residents. With this affiliation, the Foundation Board focused its mission to provide financial support for local programs and services that address identified health needs, especially for the poor and vulnerable.

Ministry Good Samaritan remains a community hospital, operated with a local board that governs the hospital’s activities with the community’s best interests in mind. Your generosity will be our river of commitment–strengthening our community.

Many Ways to Give

Direct Contributions

Cash or checks are the most common form of giving. Gifts of real estate, life insurance and tangible property are also popular. Gifts of long-term investments, such as common stocks or bonds, may provide added tax benefit.

Tributes & Memorials

A tribute or memorial, to commemorate loved ones on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or other special occasion can be a meaningful reminder to friends or family members of how much you care.

Charitable Bequests

The most common form of planned giving is made through a will. A bequest is an excellent way to support the Foundation while protecting the interests of you or your family.

Life Income Gifts

There is a special category of gifts known as “life income” gifts. These gifts may provide you an immediate income tax deduction, and may afford you many other benefits such as life income, future continued use of the gift property, and avoidance of capital gains and estate taxes. Contact your financial planner or the Good Samaritan Foundation for more information.

With Our Thanks

All gifts are gratefully accepted and will be acknowledged.

With an annual gift of $100-$499, donors become members of the DeAngelis Giving Society which includes an invitation to the annual Wine and Cheese Celebration.

All contributions are gratefully accepted. Cumulative donations of $500 or more will be commemorated on the River of Commitment Donor Wall which is located in the main lobby of the hospital.

Gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible as allowable by law. A copy of the Foundation’s financial records are available by request.
