Volunteer Opportunities

By becoming a member of the hospital auxiliary, you have a number of volunteer opportunities at the hospital. As a volunteer, you enhance services to the patients and staff, supplement the services of the regular staff with special programs, and serve as a public relations representative for the hospital in the community.

You may join as an active, sustaining or life member of the auxiliary. The organization includes men and women as members. Active members must serve a minimum of 24 hours annually. Members who choose in-hospital service must wear a uniform that will be provided through the auxiliary.

The auxiliary began in February 1945 through the efforts of a small group of women interested in serving the hospital through both personal services and fund-raising projects. Their enthusiasm resulted in the founding of the organization.
