Agape Center Yellow Chair Project

A Project of The Agape Center in Milwaukee, WI, The Yellow Chair project is a initiative to bring neighborhoods closer together through yellow chairs built by community members that visually demonstrate a sense of community, togetherness and safety. The project was supported by Ministry Health Care, The Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation, in Partnership with the City of Milwaukee.

a leading non-profit organization serving the northwest side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Agape Community Center has been active in community and neighborhood development for the past seven years.  

Strong families and strong neighborhoods go hand-in-hand.  Each depends on trust, support, stability, and a sense of connection.  Agape Community Center is committed to making Milwaukee's Northwest Side a place with vibrant neighborhoods where people want to live.

The Agape Community Center's Neighborhood Development staff partnered with NIDC to do bring the Yellow Chair project to residents of the Thurston Woods neighborhood! We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Sigma Aldrich, Milwaukee Excellence, Molina Health Care, and Bill and Donna Lex for volunteering their time this past Saturday. We would also like to thank Susan McCarthy and Tim Rozkdowski for the paint. Thank you to all the Thurston Woods residents that participated and made this event such a success!

The Agape Community Center will be partnering with LaShawndra Vernon from the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County to host Mediation training.
